PLAYGROUND BENEFITS FOR OUR PARISH

St. Thomas More currently has more 1,000 registered families with over 700 children. More than 250 children are enrolled in the preschool & religious education classes. Our playground benefits the future generations of our parish, allowing them grow in their love for God and others. Our children, grandchildren, foster children, adopted children, Godchildren, and unborn children have a space where they can run, jump, and laugh. A space where they can learn and grow socially, build communication skills, work on problem solving, and team building.

Inclusive ground level activities, unitary surfacing, and a fenced in space ensures the area is welcoming to children at different ages and stages of development with their varying needs and abilities. Benches with shade structures add to the level of comfort in the space for parents and caregivers.

The playground space allows parents and caregivers to enjoy faithful fellowship with other families, especially as a means to recruit and involve new families. Evangelization and outreach is an important attribute that we are called to practice within our Catholic faith; this becomes easier when one feels welcomed, supported, and comfortable in their parish.

“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” – Proverbs 22:6
