Fr. Donald Zimmerman was ordained June 2, 1973, at St. Michael Church in Collyer by Bishop Cyril Vogel. He has done pastoral ministry at many parishes within the Salina Diocese including St. Mary, Queen of the Universe Parish in Salina (1973-1976), St. Peter Parish in Aurora, St. Anthony Parish in Miltonvale and St. Peter Parish in Meredith (1976-1978), St. Ignatius Loyola Parish in Kanopolis, St. Joseph Parish in Brookville and St. Mary Parish in Holyrood (1978-1982), St. Edward Parish in Belleville, St. Isidore Parish in Cuba and St. George Parish in Munden (1982-1990), Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Hays (1990-2002), St. Thomas More Parish in Manhattan (2002-2015), Sacred Heart Cathedral (2015-2017), St. Andrew in Abilene (2018-2020), SS. Peter and Paul Parish in Clay Center and St. Anthony Parish in Miltonvale (2020-2021). Fr. Don was granted full retirement in 2021 and now resides in Manhattan, KS where he serves as retired pastor at St. Thomas More.
