The Knights of Columbus is a fraternal organization of Catholic men. Membership is required. Our Knights of Columbus Council 8488 is very active in our parish.

A Gift in Honor of Father Don

Father Don requested that upon his move to the Salina Cathedral, any departure gift would be in form of a donation to Catholic Charities.  He was presented a check from the Knights of Columbus at the June 22, 2015 Awards Dinner. Congratulations Hammerschmidt Family!

Denny and Vicki Hammerschmidt and their family has been named the Kansas Knights of Columbus State Family of the Year.  The honor was announced on May 2 during the 114th Annual Knights of Columbus Kansas State Convention. Congratulations to our Brother Knight Denny and his wonderful family!

Council Supports the Flint Hills Breadbasket

Kevin Roberts, Grand Knight of STM Council 8488, presents a $500.00 donation to Maribeth Keiffer, Executive Director for the Flint Hills Breadbasket.  The Council for the 2014 Council year donated 6,060 pounds of food and $1,817.66 to the Breadbasket.

Top Council

St. Thomas More Knights of Columbus council 8488 was recognized by Wade Greif as the top council of the seven in his territory for their 2014 recruitment and financial support to the Knights of Columbus.  Wade donated $400 to the council for their efforts.

What have we been up to lately?


Tootsie Roll Drive – Collected $2,485.04, the most ever raised by the council

Held our third and final highway clean-up of the year on October 18, 2014

In October hosted a Rosary for Life in the daily Mass chapel before the monthly meeting

Hosted the Little Apple Pilot Club Dinner to raise funds for council activities

The 4th Degree Assembly hosted the Veteran’s Day Breakfast on November 11 at the America Legion

Ft. Riley Historic Tour (Council Activity) on November 8, 2014

Helped fill baskets for Thanksgiving at the Flint Hills Bread Basket

Sponsored the Keep Christ In Christmas Poster Contest for the Religious Education Classes

Held the yearly Memorial Mass to recognize all the Knights from our council who have passed

Helped fill baskets for Christmas at the Flint Hills Bread Basket


Donated $1,500 towards the purchase of “My Life with the Saints” book that was given away by the parish after the Christmas masses

Donated $300 for the 6th Grade Religious Education Classes Stationary Kit Project

Donated $5,1000 to the Kansas K of C Council to meet their fundraising goal in order to purchase two Sonogram machines for the Culture of Life Sonogram Program

Donated $350 to the parish for use in the Adopt-a-Family Program

Co-sponsored the Keep Christ in Christmas signage Located on Fort Riley Blvd in December
